UIL released the new football District alignments Thursday morning, putting LISD in District 8, Division 2 3A. Since there will only be five teams in our District, while all the other Districts will have six to seven teams, LISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Kirk Muhl arranged a stringent schedule for the Eagles leading up to District Play. The Eagles will scrimmage Madisonville and Hempstead the first two games of the season. Then, in non-district play, they will face Burton at home, Troy away, Rockdale away, Hearne, Caldwell and Shiner, the locations TBA. The teams in District 8 are Lexington, Hamilton, Clifton, Rogers and Florence. The locations of all the games will be decided later today in Waco. More...

A 42 year old Giddings man was sentenced in the 21st District Court of Lee County recently for a charge of Theft of Livestock, less than $150,000. He was given ten years probation by the court and ordered to pay $22,500 in restitution.  More...

Lexington Independent School District is moving closer to becoming a District of Innovation. On February 1, the District posted the DOI Committee’s proposed plan to the LISD website, where it will remain until March 2.
